My stay wet palette.....
I've spent a couple of hours painting the wonky blind contour drawing from a coupla days ago. I used napthol red light, pthalo blue, arylide yellow light, titan buff plus black and white.
Layer upon layer.......
The lips were hard because they weren't connected....who knew. Getting more depth with the layers
Working on the background. While this was a fun exercise, I'm really tired of working on it. Maybe it just needs a rest. Not sure where to take it from here. I'm ready to move onto something else in the meantime.

there are a lot of things i love both about the life of this painting and also this post that you have written...
first of all i am so inspired simply by the courage you show in painting faces at all (i am so resistant about trying to paint a face)...so thank you for helping to pull me a little closer into your footsteps...
secondly...i am captivated by the color you chose for your eyes...what vibrant and bright eyes you are looking out at the world with...THAT is awesome...
third...i am intrigued by your mouth...it makes me think of the times i can say something and feel like i am reaching for words and they aren't coming out the way i intend, instead in a sort of crooked way and then i feel like i have to use more words to try and explain what i really meant...i love that you didn't try to "fix" it but you let it be the way you originally sketched it...
and finally...i am so happy with the way you ended your post...if i could just learn to let something be for a while without feeling a need to rush and act and finish (whether it is art or anything really)...and "do" something...sometimes things just need time to percolate...
thank you for taking up my suggestion...this journey together is something so inspirational and encouraging for me...and is giving me so much to think about and it is also allowing so much inside of my heart to unfold...
